So now instead of being "organizing ways people connect to information through the Internet" it's "buying shares in the cleverest way to make money off the Internet".

This is sort of the last frontier for Google. The search giant has been lagging behind Baidu in the traditional SEO market. Let's us see, if the mobile story is gonna be a different story for Google.
