Got Questions for Marissa Mayer? (View post)

I'm not sure if she's the right person to ask, but here's 2 that are on my mind.

1.) what effort (if any) is being put toward product synergy – that is, making more Google products interact with each other.

Example: adding calendar to gmail to simulate outlook functionality

or on the webmsater end, we have sitemaps (and its query stats thing), analytics, adsense, and adwords, but no way to aggregate the data between them all. Why can't I see what i'm spending in adwords vs what I'm making in adsense broken down by keyword? By time of day?

how about a translate feature for gmail? for reader? integrated into writely? That'd be great for dual language blogs.

I can think of a ton of useful things to do when you allow them to start playing with each other.

2.) Why is it that links, algorithms, and data refreshes can be done very often but pagerank updates are only done quarterly? I know pagerank is pretty useless, but if Google continues to show it on a toolbar then they should update it more often (monthly?). This is especially useful to novice visitors since the toolbar still says "Google's measure of the importance of htis page." Maybe just change that language? I don't equate pagerank with importance – it's confusing.

What part is she playing in making google the worlds top AI lab. Since her background is in AI I would assume that she is (or wants to be) involved. How does she feel about being at an institution on the frontier of natural language translation/processing and machine learning? Examples being Computer vision, (figuring out a person's location based on key elements of a photo), determining an image as pornography or not. Or teaching computers to classify using ontologies.

Hello There,

My Questions would be:

1.Is the Algorthimic Way of recruiting a reality or is it a concept in discussion?

2.Whats the next big thing as far as revenue is concerned or is it enough with the present ad words.

3.Can timing of indexing the web be reduced to seconds in future? as an even happens today and only after few days u can actually get the search result.

4.How z google dealing with the "powerset" vow to come up natural language search which is "the thing" now.

5.How z the India scenraio as far as google is concerned ,is it investing heavily in india?

Thanks,
Vikram

Q: How does Google censor their Chinese results?

Q: What were the experiences Google made establishing a self-censored local search engine in China in 2006?

Q: Is Google still considering and evaluating their move into China or is the issue settled now?

I quite like the thoughts aired by John Battelle that the data generated by user interactions should be available to the user. Or, who owns the clickstream that a user sends out to a website? Not many websites share these with their users.

Google does allow a user to view search history, but will it ever be made exportable by the user? I would guess there could be a Firefox or other browser plugin which could do this, but that data captured could be enriched much more by the site where this click stream goes to. As just the URLs on their own can be quite cumbersome and boring to look at, but combined with other data on the server, this could be pretty viewing. Just like you Marissa ;-).

I hold (held?) a gmail account. At the invitation of a friend of mine to the GMail I decided to have another account.Accordingly I fiiled out the relevant column. The result was unexpected. I got the new account alright. But I lost the old one.
I want the old one back as it contains invaluable data . I do not know how to go about it. I am not conversant with computer but was some what trained for e-mail
Is it possible to get my lost account back ? Will google or Gmail or any one help and help soon?

I have some questions:

1) Whats with Google Browser Sync?
How come users doesn't have access to it?

2) When we will see ©20XX Google at the bottom of YouTube's page?

3) Will there ever be a Google OS?

4) When will Gmail will be finally out of beta?

Got two more questions for Marissa...

Q: Do you consider Google's so-called "oneboxes" (answers on top of
organic search results) to be neutral?

Q: What are your thoughts on the issue of Google Account
vulnerabilities, as recently exposed in a couple of cases? Isn't it
dangerous to have so much user information under a single account?
