If you don't manually empty your spam folder, you can divide the number by 30 and that's how many you get per day. So for me, 3816/30 = 127.2 spams per day, or 5 per hour, or roughly 1 per ten minutes.

I'm asking because this number has gone up substantially since, say, October, when I was getting maybe 2,000 per month. I know there has been a rise in spam, just wondering what you guys were seeing.

Kudos to Google. I'd say I see one spam in my inbox per day.

I never get any in the spam folder since I set up a filter
in:spam, skip inbox, delete it

umm.. id say i get about 5 per day..

but during the first year of my Gmail usage, i had no Spam at all!

Gmail seems to have the best spam filter out of Gmail, Lycos, Yahoo and Windows Live.

i never check my spam box. i just hit delete straight away.

About 200 every day, about 5 per day goes to my Inbox.

But I used the address to sign up to all sorts of spamy services to test the filter when I first got the account :-) You wouldn't believe how many questionaires you can fill out and how many free coupon sites exist ... I wish there was a way to mark specific words as known spam (like the fake names I used to sign up for more spam)...

is anyone else getting a LOT of span in their inboxes lately? usually nothing passes gmail's spam filter but this morning alone i got 5 spams advertising some porn sites. quite clever, there are 5-6 recepients in the email to: and lots of body text etc. same kind of stuff happens to v-i-a-g-r-a (how ironic, i had to edit the word as this forum doesnt let me write v....a) emails lately, they get in to my inbox as well. there is DEFINITLEY a huge increase as i haven't had so many in my inbox ever.

JohnMu, I created a filter for some words: contains words and delete.

What Gmail lacks is a regex filter or multiple words or headers words filtering.

getting around 100 to 150 spams per day , with maybe 1 or 2 getting into my inbox.

its roughly 1 spam every 10 or 15 minutes.
