I don't like the tabs. Is there a way to eliminate them? |
i wish i could add more of 'em. i just dont like those new link things. |
Maybe I'm missing something; what do you use them for? |
Here's a simple way to remove the tabs in Firefox (it should also work in Opera somehow):
Add this to userContent.css in your Firefox profile. The file doesn't exist by default, so you should create it in C:/Documents and Settings/(Username)/ Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/ Profiles/(profile name)/chrome.
namespace url(http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml); -moz-document url-prefix(http://www.google.com/ig) { #tabs {display:none;} }
Then restart Firefox.
You can also use the co-branded Google pages listed here: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2007/01/create-secret-personalized-homepage.html |
I have all six tabs used.
Main; just has gmail-bookmarks-and headlines for CNN and FoxSports.
Misc; other things like weather-driving direc-docs-movie times.
News- 12 seperate RSS feeds
Sports- same as News
Tech- same as News
Webcams- cams from all over the world. |
This does not work for me.
1.There is an example .css file in my profile, should I copy this information into that?
2. If not, how do I create a new one of these files
3. Do I copy this information verbatim, or do I need to add something specific to my user profile?
Thanks.
Add this to userContent.css in your Firefox profile. The file doesn't exist by default, so you should create it in C:/Documents and Settings/(Username)/ Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/ Profiles/(profile name)/chrome.
[put at-character here]namespace url(w3.org/1999/xhtml); [put at-character here]-moz-document url-prefix(google.com/ig) { #tabs {display:none;} }
Then restart Firefox.

Create userContent.css in that folder. Add those 4 lines (instead of [put at-character here], put the at character). |
How do I create the usercontent.css document? |
