this hack plots the positions of street scenes in Cork city Ireland – the pop up blobs are hyperlinked back to an online photo gallery that i've set up.

A friend of mine has said that in Internet Explorer the thumbnails dont appear when you click on one of red blobs on the map – and yet i can see them in Firefox. Not sure yet why this is happening...

one interesting aspect of this sort of mapping is that you could , say, plot a rock band history map say – for example, U2 , against a Dublin gmap – where they went to school, their first gig, their studio etc etc...

much the same kind of thing as say that real-world Beatles tour in Liverpool (maybe a Liverpool Beatles Gmap?)

if anyone wants the code behind this so that they can build their own city gmap, just leave a comment on my blog

thanks.

update :
looks like i've either been blocked by google , or they've changed their code (thus , stopping the operation of the gmaps standalone javascript hack)...

fixed it – you need to load a new javascript file into index.html called maps.keyhole.6.js
