I was slashdotting as usual, and i stumbled upon this article about this company called citizenrē who will pay for solar panels, the installation, and maintainance so it's all free- BUT they do charge you for the energy it produces BUT they charge a fixed rate that is less than what your current utility company charges you AND you can sell the excess energy you generate to your utility company – http://www.citizenre.com/

My dad signed my family up to get solar on our house. At first he was skeptical but then he went though like all of the infomational pages and finally signed us up. If you're over 18 (i think) you can sign up as a salesperson and sell solar to people for money.

Hi, I read this everywhere on the Internet as if this was brand new. A belgian cooperative organisation Ecopower (www.ecopower.be) is doing this already for months...

Well, maybe the only english page on the site is more relevant:

Citizenrē is the wave of things to come . I have been involved with the company since last year first signing up my house then becoming a sales associate to promote green energy. If you would like more information you can contact me through www.solardays.com . Watch the video for information about our vision for the country.

I, too, was looking around the net for a way to save electricity and money. The citizenre program was such a simple and inexpensive choice, I signed our house up, and liked the idea so much I signed up to be a representative as well. (http://www.newsolar.info if you'd like to my sort-of lame page; or link to the site at http://freesolar.has.it to see the company's page)

I was looking for a way to save on our energy bill, and found the Citizenre website. It looked too good to be true, but, since there was no risk involved or $ to sign up, I did.

After looking around the company's site thoroughly, I became convinced of their mission and wanted to be a part of something good for the environment, so I signed up as an "Ecoprenuer" (sales rep.).

I put together a website (newsolar.info) and a forwarding link (freesolar.has.it) to attract folks to the "great new idea" I had found on the web.

Well, it appears that Everyone and their dog already knows, and my site visits have been very few. I've even heard that the company is a MLM scam. Everything looks viable to me.

Any thoughts out there....????

I just read another blog post from Rob S. at Citizenre on another site.

My apologies, but "free solar" cannot be associated with Citizenre, or I will not following their ad rules.

See, it's rules like that which help me think that this is a viable company with integrity who's just new and having some growing pains, not a "scam."

I will remove the forwarding link as soon as possible (having a problem remembering my password to the link supporter right now, and they do not recognize my e-mail address to send me it again...)

You didn't need to post this twice...

The company isn't a scam. It isn't the companies fault that your site isn't doing well. The company would benefit from you benefiting from your site. It's a marketing technique used by many companies like the www.transparentcorp.com and www.xango.com

People are probable skeptical of citizenrē only because many other companies who use this kind of marketing have been somewhat successful scams- but this is not at all to say that all, or even that the majority of companies who use it are scams. You have to admit, citizenrē does seem too good to be true until you realize how it works. And that yes both you and citizenrē do benefit without being screwed over.

You get free solar panels and pay less money- they spend a lot of money to get you the solar panels but over time receive more than they spent. Everybody wins.

Thanks for the help, and the reassurance.
