I don't know if anyone feels as I do, but when I'm looking at my inbox – all those Toms and Johns – I'm held back by the fact that for its display gmail uses by default and unchangeably the first name of the emailer's handle rather than the nickname I choose to give them.
If I'm always corresponding with Tom Jones and Tom Phillips – as I am – I want the gmail interface to show by default the names I've chosen to give them (Tom J and Tom P, for instance), rather than whatever comes up automatically: Tom! Tom! The way it is currently, I don't know who's emailing me until I click on it.
It would be a very easy thing to change . . . And it's probably the only thing about gmail that annoys me. Anyone else? |
I agree, make a bug report... :P |
I never thought about that. Good idea. |
Though it's not exactly a bug, more a niggle. |
