Probably the least creative/surprising/impressive of the April Fools' Day jokes. Oh well.

If I want to print all my mails, Google will be obliged to cut down a big part of Amazon rainforest to get enough paper...

Happy B-Day Gmail!

Gmail Paper is made out of 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum, and thus, actually helps the environment.

Okay, this is the second time you got me today! Forgot it was the Fool's day. The first thing was the free complete home wireless broadband service and Google provides the kit! Not the privy though! And, yeah, happy BD, Google!

"I understand the difference between labels and folders. I had one message with two labels, but when I tried to stick the paper version into two filing cabinets at the same time, it just wouldn’t go"

It was a WONDERFUL idea, both as an April Fool's joke & to be honest, as a real world application.

Who knows – maybe Google will pick up on this (or some variant of it, such as nominal cost high quality paper archiving) in the future.

To the hater up top: I doubt you could come up with anything as original. It's easy to criticize, and hard to innovate. Always has been, always will be.

WOW. I believed it, clicked on the forum link to say, "Is this fo real, real, or just for play play?"

Funny stuff. Good jorb. LOL.

And yeah, wouldn't surprise me if Google decided it's a good idea. With their wealth of knowledge, I bet they could do it, if anyone ...

Not funny. Seriously. I spent like two freaking hours of my life writing an article about how this could revolutionize people who sell electronic (text) information and have problems about not having back-up copies in case of chargebacks.

Ugh.

I feel like a total ass.

A link to the article, please. And you're not an idiot.

Damn. I saw that early in the morning and blogged it right away! I was so excited. Not about my emails really, but the fact that they would print pictures that were in my emails. I had just taken my kids to Disneyland and thought it was too good to be true. I hadn't heard encountered Google doing April Fool's jokes, but I'll always be wary now...
