I do believe that no electronic device such as babelfish or similars will do OUR work: we, translators and interpreters, do think. A machine cannot think, it only has information which manages in a very "cold" way. If you try to translate a poem in Babelfish, it could result in such a dissapointig thing. We, humans, do the work of think and have a logical sense, a system only is a system. Cold, predictable. Any comments from people like me, who is an interpreter and is trying to guess what will happen with this mega project of google? I am connected. It is 16:04 local time here, wish somebody can answer this or appear in the chat rooms. |
