Why do search results contain feeds? Isn't this redundant and annoying?

E.g.: http://www.google.com/search?q=official+google+blog&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=jXr&pwst=1&start=30&sa=N (look for "Official Google Maps API Blog")

Yes! every time i click one i feel like throwing my laptop out the window.

Google should lower the importance of RSS/ Atom files in rankings...
