<< 2. What do I need in order to use Google Page Creator?
You need to have a Gmail account and be using either Internet Explorer 6.0 or Firefox 1.0, or higher, with JavaScript and cookies enabled. If you don't have a Gmail account, you can sign up for one here. >>
This is form google pages help; but the information is wrong. You can sign in with your non-gmail enabled Google Account. Also on the Login page it says
<<Sign in to Google Page Creator with your Google Account>> and at the bottom << No Gmail Account? Sign up>>.
It looks lke Gogle are trying to push Gmail-enabled Google Accounts, but at the expense of peoples confusion, referring to a Google Account, then if you dont have a GMAIL account you can sign up at the link. But to people unaware this does not seem like they are getting a Google Account. Perhaps Google are trying to rebrand Google Accounts? |
<<Google Page Creator is a Google Labs project, and is still in an early testing phase. If you're interested in taking it for a test drive, login with your Gmail account to begin making pages. If you don't have a Gmail account and you have a mobile phone, you can sign up here. We invite you to let us know what you think by sending us your feedback and suggestions.>>
Just noticed this on sign in page. Why do you need a mobile phone? Seems like they haven't updated this yet! |
Before Gmail was opened up to anyone, you had to supply a mobile phone number for them to send you a text message for confirmation of the gmail account setup. This should have been updated months ago. |
