Google Phone should start production by end of 2007 and hit global market by 2008. High Tech Computer, or HTC, will be manufacturing the handset.
The article isn't very long but it does state that Google will offer Gmail and Google Search on the handset. It will not feature GPS though, so the hopes of having a phone that can display an exact map is out of the question. It sounds as if this will first be a European launch with the prospect of Google partnering with Orange.
