Please make the Gmail widget for the Google homepage at least as robust as the Google Reader team has made their widget. It would be nice to at least be able to mark a message as read, and also to have real time notification of new messages, just like you do in the real interface.

It would also be nice to be able to read an image inline using javascript wizardry!

Cheers,

I request an option in the settings that has the ability to turn off the spam filter for those just in case people.

i disagree. i quite like the gadget, because it is small and slim. so if you do the above, make it optional. however, i would like it if clicking on messages would open them inside the gmail layout, not separate (indeed i never really understood what the empty compose/read layout does for gmail.

Agree with your Fritz. The slim layout of Gmail seems to take just as long to load. But does nothing.
