i've been using vista and i haven't found a reason to use Google Desktop anymore. vista search feature is comparable to GDS and the sidebar is the same to google's. the only ifference is the content available right now. I haven't been a big sidebar user but now that MS included it and its there, i've added some basic gadets.
So, it begs the question, why use GDS on Vista? |
So this update is just more languages? I can't believe they have 29 languages for Google Desktop. That's Crazy! |
They say any OS, but as far as I'm concerned, Linux is still not supported... |

Indeed. Try adding the usual "hl=" param to the image and you redirected. Presumably they're doing some automated content negotiation too.
e.g. http://desktop.google.com/images/sidebar_gd5.jpg?hl=ro

To sum up, the main two differences are that Google Desktop 5 is now out of beta, and it comes with more languages. |
