i've been using vista and i haven't found a reason to use Google Desktop anymore. vista search feature is comparable to GDS and the sidebar is the same to google's. the only ifference is the content available right now. I haven't been a big sidebar user but now that MS included it and its there, i've added some basic gadets.

So, it begs the question, why use GDS on Vista?

So this update is just more languages? I can't believe they have 29 languages for Google Desktop. That's Crazy!

They say any OS, but as far as I'm concerned, Linux is still not supported...

Indeed. Try adding the usual "hl=" param to the image and you redirected. Presumably they're doing some automated content negotiation too.

To sum up, the main two differences are that Google Desktop 5 is now out of beta, and it comes with more languages.

Is there any slight of a change between the English and the GB English versions?
