"Conversation" not new or unique

Nice FAQ, though a little outdated in places.

However, I do not know where you get the idea that GMail's "conversations" are either new or unique. There have been MUAs (Mail User Agents) around for as long as I can remember that have threading. From what I have read here, GMail uses "thread by subject". The better solution is "thread by reference". I was using TBR back in 1994.

This thread is locked as it's old... but you can create a new thread in the forum.
