Google Apps was named the number one product of 2007 by PC World. Go Figure.

But, but.... Google Apps is simply Google's other applications with a custom logo. They don't even run it from your own domain, they redirect you to their own servers.

Not quite, lol. The whole point of it is that you run it through your domain. That's why you have to change your DNS records. It's only *hosted* by Google. 2 different things. |
True, but if you set up custom DNS it just redirects to Google's servers which you could have done without the custom DNS settings (just set up a redirect). The only thing you actually have to change DNS for is the mail.
