If Google can open Google Dig service?
In fact, it is Google BookMark with a counter. Use “Mark This” better.
Let a mockup say this idea.

Yahoo had this (My Web), but they removed the counters from the search results.

I found that Google add “Note this”, when it happened?
I tested after added to my notebook, the link become "Duly noted".

Google only relies on the communtiy and always has. Digg votes are stored as links to a specific popular story and Google keeps track on that already. Besides, Google will soon start keeping track on how quickly something got popular. Google doesn't need Digg because it's been a giant Digg for years already.

Voting is cool but it can be used by spammers just as easily as real people can use it. Also, its amazing how some users of Digg will digg an article without even reading it because it had a catchy title or a description that they liked. People complained about Slashdot in that sense where people didn't RTFA but they made uneducated comments about it. |
Compared with link rank, digg is also a parameter. I think, besides Note This, Google can add Mark this(bookmark), Blog this(Blogger or post to my Wordpress blog), Groups this(Google Groups), ...And also Digg this.
Digg means just means the user fell it is valueable to be introduced to other users. Bookmark means maybe back. Note means catch the useful content. Blog this means the need to comment or copy on my own place...
There are always thief and police.
Different behavior should have different importance, then search can balance the differences to give use better search result. |
