GRAY HAT SEO - hmmm,... What Exactly Does It Encompass?

Do you consider yourselves to be White, Black or Gray – when it comes to your SEO tactics?

What exactly is GRAY HAT (white & black are fairly obvious)

But Can GRAY get you banned? Or can GRAY get you penalyzed?

Is GRAY a half-way mark? Or, does GRAY mean a little of both extremes?

Is GRAY a result of being FED-UP with seeing the big guys get bigger and the rich get richer?

Generally,... .Do Whites change to GRAYS after being constantly disappointed? Or, do Blacks change to GRAYS after being heavily penalized?

It would be awesome to create an agreed upon definition of GRAY – and to get feedback on what are the SERPs benefits & repercussions, if any?

Search-Engines-Web is a totally different color all together and will elaborate later.

[put at-character here]Search-Engines-Web.com: Yes.

Or to put it another way – all of the above. Gray hat is everything that's not unarguably good or bad. There's no point 'agreeing on a definition' because people already struggle to define white vs black. In a system where a particular tactic is either good or bad, gray is any tactic that's hard to classify and any strategy that doesn't stick exclusively to one group or the other. Also, any of the three definitions is going to be very subjective. What I consider crossing the line others may see as perfectly legit.
