Simply Fired

SimplyFired.com is all about those bloggers who got fired for what they do best: blogging. Mark Jen, who was let go from Google shortly after blogging about Google (using Google’s blogging software, no less), is featured with “the official story, straight from the source” – he comments his original blog posts:

“i originally started my blog to keep in touch with friends and family – a way to let them all know what was going on in my life since i moved from seattle to san francisco to start working at google. i didn’t really give out the url to anyone except my friends through my aim profile. (...)

all along i was aware that my blog was public and that there were limitations of what i could and couldn’t say. i assumed that the only restrictions were confidential information and trade secrets (oops). although i didn’t think much of it at the time, you can see how fast stuff travels in the blogosphere”

If you want to be the next blogger featured on SimplyFired, you should start talking about work in a very honest fashion... let’s see if your boss will notice and you become the next blogosphere star.
