Google’s SearchMash.com

A new sign of Google’s upcoming Search Mashup service appeared: SearchMash.com, a Google-operated site from what it looks like*. This might be a sample application of a customized search engine (in that case, Search Mash may be a quick n’ easy tool to create your own search engine). On a light purple and white background, you can drag & drop specific search results, and to the right side of the web results you’ll see 3 image results. A combo-box next to the search input box allows you to toggle between web and image search.

*The site’s privacy policy claims that “SearchMash is a website operated by Google Inc.” and Gary Price recently reported Google reserved this domain.

[Thanks Pete Warden, Tony Ruscoe and Gary Price!]
