The Google Goose

The installation at Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier
The Google Goose game by the Austrian art group Or-Om works in the following 8 steps, according to the group’s pamphlet:
- Go to Google Images
- Let your goose (or dog, cat, chicken, rabbit) speed over the keyboard
- You’ll get a combination of characters, like “q´0+34” – hit Enter.
- Use the “large images” setting
- You get the first couple of images, save all of them in a separate graphic file
- If you don’t get any pictures, delete the last character of the query and hit Enter again – continue until you get some images
- Continue to delete the query’s respective last character for more and more images
- Optionally, include all the images found on the page the image is taken from as well
