Snap Popups
You probably came across Snap popups like the following:
I don’t like them myself, and asked for some opinions in the forum:
- Tony Ruscoe: “Annoying. Distracting. Tacky. Often slow to load. Completely pointless.”
- Mrrix32: “Annoying. Nothing else to add.”
- Ionut Alex. Chitu: “[T]he preview should be added if you hover over a preview icon. In most cases, you want to click on a link and that preview gets in your way ... [U]sers should choose if you want to see previews, their content, so it’s better to add this as a browser feature.”
- Pd: “I think its lame ... to have previews and I find it annoying. maybe its just me and my old fashion ways..”
- Martin Porcheron: “TechCrunch’s implementation is better, but still incredibly annoying.”
If you like them, dislike them, or anything in-between, please add your opinion in the comments. (For the record, other services also offer similar popups, e.g. Yahoo, and then there’s those double-underlined ad links.)

Van Elsas and TechCrunch.]
