Traces of these were spotted before but now the feature is official: in the latest update of Google documents, you can select a word and then pick Tools -> “Look up word” to retrieve a definition, synonyms, or an encyclopedic entry. The definitions and synonyms come from Merriam-Webster (including character encoding errors when I tried) and the encyclopedia is Brittanica.com. Also new is the menu entry Tools -> “Search the web for word”, which allows you to trigger a web page and an image search. Update: Plus, choosing Insert -> “Table of contents” creates a linked list of your headlines on top of your document.
