Paul Buchheit on Gmail, Scaling and More

Ex-Google employee Paul Buchheit, now at Friendfeed, was interviewed by CrazyEngineers.com and talks about how Gmail came about, scaling and more. One advice he hands out to engineers: “Build more stuff. I think empirical and experimental methods tend to work the best because the world is simply too complex to predict what will happen in advance. Therefore, we should make an effort to find easy and low cost methods of testing new ideas.” [Via Paul.]
