Google Korea’s Topic Search

Google Korea launched something called “Topic Search”. Can anyone speaking Korean help us explain what this site is? (The auto-translated blog post announcement isn’t too clear.) A translation of the Topic Search homepage reveals sections like Popular Topics, Live Topics, Daily Topics and more, with a topic being something like current events making the news.
