A Chrome OS Netbook by Google?

Techcrunch writes that, according to multiple sources, Google has “been talking to at least one hardware manufacturer about building a netbook for Google directly”. Techcrunch’s understanding is that this netbook would be Google-branded. Similar to the difference in the mobile space between companies just building something using Android vs Google making its own Nexus One phone, such a Google Chrome OS netbook could be more tightly controlled & designed by Google than what other manufacturers might release around Chrome OS.
