Hope somebody will make a firefox add on with the same functionality, one can already sync with the old bookmark service using google's toolbar and use firefox weave to do syncing on firefox, but still I kinda like the google docs integration.

In the chromium blog, support for bookmarks sync has just been announced, and they are going to be stored alongside Google Docs "for easy web access".

Wow. JavaScript bookmarklets work from inside Google Docs. Good job you can't share synced bookmarks, otherwise you could force a bookmarklet to be shared that could steal cookies if the user clicked it...

Above 5 comments were made in the forum before this was blogged,

It seems that it is not activated in Chromium daily, just in dev-builds, and I can't get the current deb-build to sync.

You can't delete bookmarks from Docs :(
And I wish it synced with Google Bookmarks (Yes, I've imported them).

Until you can add and delete online and use in other browsers, I'm sticking with Google Bookmarks.

It's surprising that they don't support labels yet. I'm sure they'll enable nested labels soon, but also collaboration...

Coming soon (my guess): put few documents, videos and links in a Google Docs folder and share it to a group of friends. The folder appear instantly in your friends' docs list, but also in their Chrome bookmarks (with links to the docs, the videos and external websites), their Youtube account and, soon, their G:// desktop folder (Cosmo plug-in). It sounds promising, doesn't it?

Works fine for me, but basic functionality indeed.

I'ld like integration with FF too & it would be handy if we could edit the bookmarks in Google Docs.

Also, now I can insert CSS code in Chrome's developer tool. Useful. :)

From the update at the bottom of Ionut's post:

<< Update: The file that implements the syncing algorithms (syncapi.dll) includes many references to GDrive, so it's likely that Google will use the same technology to synchronize all the files stored in Google Drive. >>

Synced bookmarks are fine, but only when a browser allows profiles ... I have a set of bookmarks for work, including a few "private" bookmarks, and vice versa. I don't want to see all of them at work or at home.

Well spotted. It was previously showing as "New Service" so that's a recent change: https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=chromiumsync
