Nice!
How accurate is this? I find 8 entries when I Google for ["thanks tony ruscoe" | "thanks to tony ruscoe"] on your website yet only see 3 on that page you've created:
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22thanks+tony+ruscoe%22+%7C+%22thanks+to+tony+ruscoe%22+site%3Ablog.outer-court.com+-inurl%3Aforum
Also, sometimes I've been credited as just "Tony" instead of "Tony Ruscoe" – e.g.: http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-05-08-n76.html – but I can live with that! ;-)
(BTW, it doesn't matter too much for me, but it might be better to link to the Google search with the name in double quotes – e.g. ["Tony Ruscoe"] – so that it's got a better chance of finding the right person's website.) |
Yeah, I found these ones that thank me :
http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-01-24-n23.html http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-05-02.html#n43 http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-02-24-n86.html http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-04-15-n53.html http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2005-12-16.html#n22 http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-03-06.html
But I'm not even in the list :o)
But that's only an ego issue.... so I guess it's okay ;o) |
Great thing! This will be much higher to climb up :P

I think we need a beta tag alongside.. while Philipp works on the tweaks :)- |

The counter starts only from early 2005. Around that time I moved from Blogger to my own database, and this current script only runs over the database. So that means Tony anything before 2005 is ignored, but will be found with a Google search. One of these days I might import all the old data into the database, right now it's more or less just lying around on static HTML files :) But yeah, even for 2005+ some inaccuracies will stay... e.g. "Tony" vs "Tony Ruscoe". When possible I merge names (e.g. "SEW" + "Danny Sullivan" + "Barry Schwartz" all add to "Search Engine Watch"). |
