It shows how difficult it is to integrate services that are bought from a different company. Especially services that have a huge userbase before they are bought. And it is sad that it persists even after 4+ years of integration.

Google seams rebuilding the server groups. I am in China.

For me the front page displays news but not if you click on a topic of interest...

They had to take the whole lot down to push out the fix, hence Mambo's error message.

News is still FUBAR. Seems to effect some sections more often than others. In a similar vein, the news modules for Google/ig are also empty...

Roughly half the Google News are back now, the other half of the sections are still empty. Looks really weird right now.

Google News has been playing up on Google's Webmaster Console for a while now.

Over at blog.arhg.net/2007/02/arhg-goo ... I've a screen grab of a "quirk" in the crawl rate.

Google News UK is down right now.

OK in SF Bay Area

I have been noting service disprutpions on new/blogger/groups and occsionally gmail.. it kinda bounces up ad down.. seems more of a network issue rather then a service failure point.. is google doing some giganodes fiber implementation ??

The whole internet is acting like it's experiencing one massive DoS attack for the past 24 hours. I've had problems on and off at work and at home, with IE7 and FireFox, at multiple sites.

Wouldn't be surprised if we learn of a massive new worm targeting Google and Yahoo.

you know what they say... No news is good news...
Or maybe not... lol.

Probably some maintenance script failed to run...some clenup function, which led to catastrophic failure...

Akin to 19-hour AOL outage...
