I wish him all the luck in the world, but isn't there a bit of hubris in the notion that if vast numbers of people fail to heed your arguments after a decade's worth of effort, that it is because they are all bought? I don't believe Lessig is bought by Google (as some have suggested) but I don't believe many on the other side are bought either. Maybe, just maybe, there's more to the story, and others see different parts of that story than he does. It doesn't seem, based on reading Lessig's blog, he's ever considered the possibility that there is truth out there beyond what he preaches. |
