Want to chop off an extra second from your site lookup time on FireFox 2 or IE 7 when you are going to a (dot)com address.

If you are going to a (dot)COM address......just put the domain by itself into the address bar, then press CONTROL ENTER – at the same time. Both the http: //www and the .com will be added, and automatically transfered to the site.

Normally, this would not be such a big deal – but in many IE7 browsers, one must add http:// or www. to the address in order to get to a site because of a registry bug. It is time consuming.

Previously, you could type a simple domain + .com to visit a site.

And as an added bonus, this shortcut works in later versions of FireFox.
