“来吧”(laiba):http://laiba.tianya.cn/ another Google Product
My post here:http://googlemagazine.blogspot.com/2007/08/google-fensi.html

“来吧”(laiba) means "Come here" in Chinese... |
BTW, some strings from Fensi were seen in the "Google in Your Language" program back in January:

徐杰, can you post an English description of your Chinese post? |
Translation:
Can you still remember a new Google product – Google Fensi, that we discovered a while back? Fensi is actually Fensi's PinYin. Today Google and Tianya cooperate to release a new prodcut, "LaiBa", to compete with Baidu's TieBa (Post Bar, http://tieba.baidu.com/), only that the interface is not as ugly (the TianYa UI is known for being ugly). When I look at LaiBa home page's HTML code, I discovered two lines of code... (see the post on GoogleMagazine for the code)
From the code, LaiBa = Gogole Fensi, developed by Google and run by Tianya. yet another localized product.
LB's functionalities are excellent, way more powerful than BaiDu's TieBa. For example, you can create your own little groups like Google Groups or Orkut's Community.
LB even integrated Google Maps, which lets you to locate yourself and see other LB members' locations. (note by Haochi: not IP based so you can put yourself in the middle of Pacific)
I think that Google have hosted LB on Tianya is a very smart move, one can dodge some political issues, secondly Tianya is very popular, social networking is easy to have found a root there. Now Google has basically all Baidu's services (except Baidu Wiki). The latter half year would be a heck of competition between them. Well, the users are the ones that benefit from them lol. :) --- |
Laiba like this forum, taged by topic. Some like Baidu Tieba. A special BBS.
Wenda like Google Answers.
Google will add these two service to Apps?
Laiba also means "Come on Baby" in Chinese |
