In recent months, there's been a noticeable increase in the number of compromised websites around the web. One explanation is that people are resorting to hacking sites in order to distribute malware or attempt to spam search results. Regardless of the reason, it's a great time for all of us to review helpful webmaster security tips.

   Hi,

I agree with the previous users comments to some extent.

------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT PREVIOUS USERS COMMENTS?????????????!!!!!

It appears that the egos are so fragile at Google and the Corporate Politics so pervasive --- that intelligent, critical comments will be removed.

The user comment that AJ was referencing was a comment made about prewarning Google via an Engineers' blog about the probability that the matter they FINALLY realized was crucial and getting out of control – WAS headed in that direction. And insisting that old policies be changed to alleviate the effects this would have on victims.

The comment ended with a suggestion that there be an outlet to offer constructive criticisms to Google WITHOUT the fear of having the comment deleted because someone took it the wrong way.

There was also a polite warning that others at Google may be fearful of offering suggestions because of the possibility of offending some VIP or Head Engineer.

SEVERAL HOURS LATER – that comment mysteriously disappeared!

Even if it a quality comment and productive.

They have no problem with taking the suggestions made by SearchEnginesWeb and eventually implementing them (as they have done many times) – but they just don't want to be confronted on their own blogs.

You can imagine what the work atmosphere is REALLY like there – despite all the very nice extras, it still boils down to insecurity and big egos that are easily bruised.

The bottom line is that they only hurt themselves by running away from the truth because it feels bad to hear it.
