We posted a picture of this before most other blogs I think:
http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2007-09-18-n18.html
Sadly, it was just in an update rather than a post of its own though... :-( |
I think that it was Philipp who posted it earlier today.. |
Oh, Tony got ahead of me.. :P |
Two question though:
1) Where is the number " 1 " digit? (~1~-800-466-4411)
2) Can anyone tell what is written next to the Google logo? (in gray) |
It says:
800-GOOG-411 411 FREE FROM Google
SearchEngineLand has a better photo:

I could be wrong but I think the leading number 1 is only needed if you're outside the USA... does that sounds right to anyone?
Edit: David, you can read more about US phone numbers here:

It depends. Most landline phone carriers have stupid rules, sometimes requiring the 1 to be prepended and sometimes forbidding it. Violation of said rules leads to annoying recorded messages: "You must [not] dial a 1 when dialing this number!". I hope somebody fixes the telephone industry soon. Grand Central rocks, but it is only a first step. |
