Google's inconsistencies

As part of my OCD behaviour, I get very annoyed when Google do things in different ways across their products.

I think we should put together a list of inconsistencies that need to be rectified, starting with:

- Format of Google logo on search pages. e.g. Google Product Search logo has "product search" in actual text, whereas "maps" in Google Maps is, well, an image.

- Different widths for log-in screen container. e.g. Google Web History uses a fixed width for the log-in area, whereas Gmail uses a liquid layout.

- The product navigation announced at Searchology. Although it's meant to adapt to the current product, the fact that the top bar's product list changes is just complete unintuitive. Get rid.

- Having "New!" on a product that is over 6 months old.

- Picasa Web? Web Albums? Google Photos? Choose now.

- Non-updated version of Google Reader screenshot on the log-in page. It's not in Labs anymore.

- Not adding "UK English" language at the same time as "US English" – is it really that hard?

- Google Docs's login box reads "Google Docs and Spreadsheets".

- Google still links to its old outdated help centre on search pages

- Google hasn't adapated the Nav bar accross all products internationally

Not inconsistent... perhaps... too consistent! (The download was 40K.)
