The font on my gmail has become very small,how do i rectify it

It has more to do with your browser's Settings. Press Crtl and scroll. You should see the text re-sizing.

And talking about the font... I hate the times-new-roman-style of the v2 :(

Now it's back to arial, I don't know why it was in times new roman. Now I'm 100% happy with the new version :]
