Just kidding – but I did take this screenshot a few minutes ago when I realized that when the page loads it switches from 2757.272164 to 5118.******

Weird!

I also noticed (but this could be REALLY old for all i know) the Gmail for organizations link at the bottom of the page.

I have 5118!!
It's increasing faster. But I don't care, I'm using only 626 MB. I still can backup all to a CD :P

The title of the login page now reads, "Gmail: Email from Google".

[put at-character here]Haochi:
I know why they did this. Do a search for [gmail] http://www.google.com/search?q=gmail . The title "Welcome to Gmail" doesn't make sense from the perspective of someone who finds the site in a search engine.

*Makes rude gesture at M$FT Fanboi on the other side of the class*

"You are currently using 201 MB (3%) of your 5128 MB"

Yeah but now it's over 5120 mb (The true 5 Gigs)

Technically, 5000 Megabytes is 5 Gigabytes, but 5120 Mebibytes is 5 Gibibytes

Are you comenting that I didn't Capitalise "MB" or are you talking about something else (If you where, it was a mistake)

He's talking about the confusing mess that is MB, Mb and MiB. To steal from the Definition from the WP artcile on Megabytes:

"The term "megabyte" is ambiguous because it is commonly used to mean either 1000² bytes or 1024² bytes"

Personally, I prefer it to mean 1024² bytes, but I've been brought up on that and others will probably disagree on the basis "it makes it more confusing" – but to who? The people who see 1.2MB as a value, not a number of bytes.

I PREFER it to be 1024 etc bytes, but KNOW it should be 1000 (inline with other SI Units, eg Kilogram)

Technically Megabyte is 1000 bytes according to the SI scale and a Mebibyte (MiB) is 1024 bytes on the Binary scale but the damage is done, a MB has been generally called 1024 bytes for too long.

1024x makes you look more geeky.

End of discussion.

<<you look more geeky.

lol

Although, thinking about it, being involved in the discussion makes you look even more geeky than anything.
