Sorry for posting this here, but I really don't have too many friends (on the interwebs or otherwise) who can help me with this stuff.

[WinXP, SP2]

I'm unable to install a full version of software over a demo version. I tried removing all traces of the program from my registry/local settings/local data, etc., by hand, but the full install never takes effect.

I'm leery of doing any more removal by rote, as we all know the registry can be a fickle beast. So, two questions:

1. Have you ever used Window Washer to achieve the effects I'm after? Is it good? Seems to get positive reviews.

2. Any recommendations for other tools?

I no-longer trust Google's spammy index to give me objective results on these type issues.
