If you're using IE and the new version of Gmail, when you click the "More Actions" drop-down, then "New label" -it now pops up the new label box in an Ajax-like floating box.
No more scripted window alert!!
I noticed this a couple days ago...Is this new? I know it wasn't doing this when I first started using the new version I Gmail because I tested this. |
Whoaaaa, I see it too!!!
It's amazing! Totally awesome :D
No, seriously...you are right. It's a small step for Ajax but a huge step for modal dialogboxes!

I'm positive this wasn't here two days ago (all I can say is, finally). |
I don't have IE7.. Screenshot maybe?
Thanks.. :)
(I tend to ask a lot of screenshots lately.. :P) |
Its the same on FF (that's where I checked first) |
Yeah that "scripted window alert" in IE was really annoying and now it's a little bit quicker to create a label :) |
Yes, it's the same Ajax-like floating box that you'll see with Firefox now.
The only reason I said IE is because IE used to give you an annoying scripted window alert when you create a new label – and FF never did that to begin with. |
It's so great that it doesn't react when you press Enter. |
They still need to replace the Google Docs document renaming popup if they want to be consistent, it also triggers an IE7 scripting alert... |
I have an option I don't understand : What is the "Mute" thing in the "More Action" menu ? |

Basically it's used to stop messages (like mailing lists) from going back to inbox after you archive it or put it in trash.

Great they use AJAX now .. the Popup script is often blocked in computers at school by default and you will have to reload the page before you can enable it. |
