Could be a sign that eventually Google Accounts will support OpenID, and seeing as Google now allows you to add additional emails to your Google Account, OpenID looks like the next logical step. |

Zim OpenID means less account mess because it's one account for all sites that support OpenID instead of having to manage tons of accounts on your own. |
Brad Fitzpatrick said he wasn't involved, so this was just some experimental Blogger feature. Besides, all the other blogging platforms supported OpenID.

Ionut Brad may very well have had nothing to do with this but if Google has been in talks with OpenID, they would just be secretive like always. There are just a few issues with OpenID that Google will not adopt OpenID until they are resolved. |
