"The team has a bunch more things in the works, so stay tuned." Gmail blog, http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/code-changes-to-prepare-gmail-for.html
Since the new Gmail 2.0 is out, now updates are more frequent : What do you think will be the next update ? What are your hopes and fears ?
I really think we will have new stuff to use our "virtually unlimited" Gmail storage. Here is what I expect :
* Video support (as mp3) with embedded flash player * Voice calls / Voicemails (as google talk) integrated in Gmail chat * Grandcentral/Gmail fusion for voice messages * Mail fetcher for IMAP (incoming messages, the same as pop3) * A real contact manager (and not a contact fetcher) * GPG encryption, signature for important mails (this may disable possibility to search mail, adsense display and custom filters) |
>>Video support (as mp3) with embedded flash player That would be nice.
>> Grandcentral/Gmail fusion for voice messages Pretty sure GrandCentral is for Google Apps.
>> A real contact manager I like the new Contact Manager, although it is rather slow.
I'd like to see: * Rich text signatures * Skins * LDAP access |
"* Grandcentral/Gmail fusion for voice messages"
Looking forward to this. Could be a great feature! |
An even more powerful contact manager could be awesome. LDAP access as well – let us have external access for the contacts as well!
Viewing of received videos, as were the case of mp3's, could be useful too. |
I'd like to see video support, and skins |
I just received a mail from a reader of Zorgloob saying that AIM chat is active on its account...
I'm waiting for his answer to provide me a decent screen capture. |
I want voice support in the chat too, but what I want more than everything else is RSS integration. I mean real integration; something like (please, forgive me for saying this) like... live mail. Google reader "embeded" into GMail. |
I've got AIM Chat aswell, although I don't have any AIM "buddies". |
