Digg hires bank, hoping to sell for $300 million or more (Eric Eldon/VentureBeat) http://venturebeat.com/2007/12/17/source-digg-hires-bank-hoping-to-sell-for-300-million-or-more/ |
Who might have an interest in buying?
Would Google benefit from them? |
yes google..will have a hive of social content that is either pushed or pulled via social traction. this could (big world could) leverage other channels like google news , youtube etc.. it the social network of digg that has great value for any contender.. IMHO, a .5B value is in the making |
I am going to acquire Digg with the 7 dollars I have in the pocket. see: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Google-to-be-Bought-by-Abramovich-and-Deripaska-73297.shtml
Kevin, "Deal or No Deal?" |
Digg isn't really Googley. Google is already working on shared stuff and i'm excited to see what they are preparing in the department |
I see Digg as more suited to Microsoft or Yahoo!'s Content Creation approach than Google's preferred Algorithmic approach. Having said that, judging by Google Knol, Digg might not be a stretch from where Google is already going. |
ahhhhhh..Martin is seeing the tapestry of play possible with knol too!! |
Quick, sell .. before the bubble! :) |
MSFT seems to be interested... |
Should Microsoft buy it I'm sure Digg would become deserted with all the Apple fanboys leaving it instantly :P |
good point Sohil!!
whats the ratio between apple fans to MSFT fans vs Linux fans on digg ??
churn points need to be factored in, based on which company is acquiring digg!
