Is there any information available on the technology that created this "impossibility"?

There are many of these images on Google Earth/Maps, it is simply where pictures were taken at different angles, and stuck together.

The more interesting thing is the lack of an edit line – or in fact any sign that to images have been stuck together (I guess that means its a good job).
