I'm trying to map my skiing trip on google maps, but when I map my hometown to Dublin airport, and the dublin airport to Karlsruhe Baden-baden it decides to take me on a ferry to england and then a train to france, and drive to the airport. Is there anyway to force it to let me use the airports?

google maps is for driving (including car ferries) so it won't include flight paths (though they maybe should add this in the future) If I were you just set the directions from the destination airport to the resort.

You don't need to be told to get on the plane!

Not really sure what you want to do but, there is a line tool that will give you distance and allow you to map your trip in Google Maps > My Maps > Create New Map.
