Here is a brief interview and tour of where this happens – with comments from two sets of readers

Interesting stuff. I love how these "documentary"-style videos always already have cameras *inside* the house when the reporter knocks and enters.

Look at the top 20 blogs on Technorati......

If this forum was built up and enhanced – THIS IS where Blogoscoped could and SHOULD be.

This forum has so-o-o-o-o-o much potential – and a rare proactive readership that needs little monitoring.

It really has enormous potential!

"Look at the top 20 blogs on Technorati.." ??

T'rati ranking and rating is broken..

Agreed, Technorati is kinda broken and unusable for different reasons. As for charts, right now, Blogoscoped is ranked at #52 at Technorati*, but I don't know how these listings are really useful. What is it supposed to mean that iCanHasCheezburger.com ranks 42 places before Blogoscoped, is it supposed to mean we should change this blog to include more LOLCATS? Even the Techmeme leaderboard**, which is a little more focused on technology blogs, and where Blogoscoped is at #66, isn't the kind of place where one should measure success. Not just because this blog mostly focuses on Google so it's a bit of a niche blog. (I mean, is it successful if we mirror more stories discussed by other tech blogs already, potentially ending up more often on Techmeme and then getting a higher ranking in the Leaderboard?)

I mean, I think charts are fun, and they can be a good very first introduction to explain someone who doesn't usually hang out here to communicate that this blog is steady & dynamic. But one shouldn't read too much into it, let alone worry about rankings. I think it's better to look at other blogs, or feedback, for inspiration to see what you can change, and to do some introspection as to whether you help progressing things.

The potential of the forums is NOT being fully exploited. There can still be a Google focus (look at the official Google blog)

But it is ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that with the type of intelligent proactive contributors this blog has – It has the potential to be in the top 5! J
ust look at the consistent maturity of the comments, contributions and forum behavior!

It is just about using the interactive forum to get to the maximum amount of geeks. The answer lies in fully developing the forum into a giant Web 2.0 force.

As everyone knows from reading the 'suggestions' made on a certain Google-related blog – SearchEnginesWeb is almost always right!

Speaking of blog charts, I've just been pointed to this one, which takes backlinks into accounts but also evaluates the authority of the backlinker, sort of like PageRank does I guess:
