Now read this while averting your eyes: "STITCHED-TOGETHER PENCILS EVOLVE INTO BEASTLY SCULPTURES" http://www.wired.com/images/article/magazine/1605/pl_arts_pencil5_f.jpg [...] "Certain viewers find it a little obscene," says the artist. "Maybe because I used the pink eraser ends to outline the orifices."

COMMENT: Once again, we're our own worst enemies.... ?how? could we been thinking that a prematurely obsoleted draw/ print-tech such as this [ http://blogoscoped.com/forum/123223.html] would just quietly wither away? Apparently there's still plenty of life in the ol' doll. Of course it didn't die on its own; rather, it *EVOLVED* into some nasty we wouldn't care to encounter on its own in the wild. COLLECTIVE SHAME on us all for not phasing it out more delicately/ not having any clear strategy for post-deployment deployment of said Color Pencils. Perhaps we've learnt something for when next now-indispensable assets are to be retired (mice?), and can face that threat with some empathy. |
