Is there any way to use Gmail for mail from another (work) account and not have it say "sent on behalf of namegmail.com"?
I would like to use Gmail for a work account and would like to be able to have all my e-mails sending to one account, while at the same time, not have the workd world see my personal address.
Second option is, if I could transfer my archived items to a second gmail account, I could have personal gmail and work non-gmail, both sent to this new account. Is this possible? PLEASE HELP! |
I agree. The 'On Behalf' is annoying and i don't know how to remove it. |
Google don't specifically add that. It's actually the email client that adds it, although it's Google's fault (of course). Basically, they add a "Sender" field as well as the usual "From" field and some email clients display this in the way you described whilst others ignore it.

Well.. I guess they are sticking to standards. right?? |
But does ANYONE have a solution???
I want to conceal my home e-mail, but use gmail for my work e-mail, too?
HOW? |
If your concern is not divulging your real address, I think that Spamgourmet has the capability to rewrite these fields. The source is available at SourceForge.

I had this working just fine from my Yahoo mail account. I switched to Gmail in August and had assumed it worked the same way. The solution may be to go back to Yahoo. They do offer a pretty good email service also. |
Yahoo email service is horrible. I used them for a decade, then they deleted my account without warning and without reason. Stay away from Yahoo!. I spent 20 hours on technical / customer support with them, being transferred and all they could say is "we can not help you, we can not tell you why the account was disabled, etc" |
