I restarted my PC and opened Fx 3 RC2 as usual. I was going to write a note into a document and open Google Docs. Suddenly Gears asked me if Docs is allowed to store data locally.
Latest public Gears is 0.3.24.0 |
Don't work with mac OS X and FF3 RC2... |
A new release makes sense, given Google has announced that: a) Safari, Opera and Fx3 support is imminent, b) It will simply be called "Gears", c) Gears will become less of just an offline apps API.
And with the release of Opera 9.5/Fx3 so soon, now is the perfect time to release an update. |
Also, to extend to that, take a look at all the new API proposals on the Gears doc: http://code.google.com/docreader/#p(google-gears)s(google-gears)t(APIProposals)
Looks like this is going to be a rather sweet platform to use. |
Just downloaded Gears and I got v 0.3.14.2 (Vista*/Firefox 3.0**)
*Yes it is a nightmare **Final???? Dosn't say RC2, but FF3 isn't avalible on their site yet! |
I am using a theme for Fx 3 that provides XP Fx Skin on Vista |
Hi everyone,
Yes, we are beginning to roll out 0.3.24.0 to the public, which includes support for Firefox 3.
It's at about 10% right now, and we should be moving it up to 100% over the next several days. |
Yeah, my FF3rc2 is Gears enabled! Thanks! |
Hebbet, do you mean the options for "Start menu" and "Quick launch bar" shortcuts? (The "Desktop" shortcut option has been there since launch.) |
