anybody know when it's gonna be released. Hope soon. Because I miss it very much on my ff 3rc3. Google make it fast |
I have the same hopes, but I could imagine it makes some sense for Google to wait until the final release, at least when it comes to developing a releasable version. All I personally like to have is the "translate into English" button and the PageRank indicator... |
Philipp: Use a bookmarklet for translation: http://www.google.com/translate_tools?hl=en and http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/ for PageRank (you can disable the data from Alexa). |
Thans for the PageRank extension, I will try it. As for the translation, what I'm looking for is a button or bookmarklet that will not need me to define a source language... basically whichever language I'm on (Japanese, Chinese, Spanish...) I want to click just that button to have it figure it out... that worked nicely with the old toolbar. What bookmarklet would I need for that? |
Hmm, this is from the SearchStatus privacy policy:
<<For every web page you visit while using SearchStatus (excluding secure domains and those you have configured as private), certain information, potentially including your ip address, the url of the web page you visit, and general information about your browser and computer's operating system may be transmitted from your computer to Alexa, Google or Compete. Some of the url's you visit which are transmitted will contain information that is personally identifiable.>>
Can't say I like it too much they share the data with Alexa and (or) Compete... |
If you disable Alexa (Compete is disabled by default), the privacy policy only applies to Google. It works the same as Google Toolbar and only sends the URL to Google.
Custom setup (the PR is for this forum):

I have just installed Google Toolbar Lite: http://www.borngeek.com/firefox/googlebarlite/ Haven't tried it yet, but quite a few people seem to love it.
I Google'd "google toobar for ff3" and found this page, along with: http://talkback.zdnet.com/5208-10535-0.html?forumID=1&threadID=48065&messageID=897031&start=0 |
