* Nokia bought the rest of Symbian (it already owned 47.9%)
* the OS will become open source
* Symbian Foundation – Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Samsung, AT&T, NTT DoCoMo, Vodafone
* "A full platform will be available for all foundation members under a royalty-free license, from the foundation's first day of operations. According to Nokia, the foundation is expected to begin operations during the first half of 2009, subject to the closing of the Symbian Ltd. acquisition. " http://www.crn.com/software/208800481

* location-tracking service

Even though most blogs will probably say that open sourcing Symbian is a problem for Android, I think this is yet another indirect Google victory.
